Yellowstone Alum Officially Leaves Dutton Ranch For Marshals

Marshals season 2 is gaining a Yellowstone alum from Dutton Ranch. While Yellowstone has already ended on Paramount Network, but Taylor Sheridan is able to continue the Dutton family’s legacy thanks to two spinof sequels. Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser spearhead Dutton Ranch, reprising Beth and Rip in their new life in Texas. Back in Montana, however, Luke Grimes’ Kayce is keeping East Camp safe while also embarking on a new journey in Marshals. While both shows exist in the same reality, there hasn’t been any crossover.

Considering their shared universe, not to mention history, there’s interest in seeing Marshals and Dutton Ranch tackle one big narrative moving forward. No word that it’s happening anytime soon, although people involved in the shows have all expressed their desire to do a crossover. While that may not be on the table for now, one talent from Dutton Ranch, who was also a veteran of Yellowstone, is officially transferring to Montana for Marshals season 2.

Kayce’s Original Yellowstone Stuntman Joins Marshals Season 2

Ahead of the most-watched show of the 2025-2026 TV cycle‘s return for its sophomore year, Grimes confirmed (via TVInsider) that Jordan Warrack, his original stuntman in Yellowstone, is joining Marshals for the same job. After the flagship wrapped in 2024, Sheridan kept him as the stunt coordinator of Dutton Ranch, and was actually the reason why he couldn’t continue to be Kayce’s stunt double in the CBS procedural’s debut year. Now, however, Warrack is reuniting with Grimes. Read his full quote below:

“[Warrack] grew up rodeoing, and his dad was a wrangler and a stuntman, so he’s grown up in it all his life, and he’s incredible. We’re actually able to do a lot more stuff with the stunts this year than we were able to Season 1.”

“There’s no possible way I could do all of the things required of Kayce in these scripts. If you don’t start roping when you’re really young, you’re never gonna be great at it. And Kayce’s roping people and bulls and all sorts of stuff, so it would be completely impossible for me to do all my own stunts.”

For context, Dutton Ranch and Marshals were filmed around the same time during mid-2025. The scheduling conflict made it impossible for Warrack to join the CBS series. Despite the shows’ production overlap, their release dates were quite separated. Marshals season 1 premiered early March 2026, while Dutton Ranch season 1 didn’t arrive until the middle of May. With Grimes’ procedural joining CBS’s fall 2026 lineup, it had to start shooting in the summer.

What Warrack’s Marshals Arrival Means For Season 2

Being Kayce’s stuntman for nearly the whole of Yellowstone‘s run, it’s safe to say that Warrack is well-versed in making sure that the character is well-represented on-screen, especially when it comes to action sequences. In the flagship, John III’s youngest was part of the main ensemble, but in Marshals, he is front and center. This means that he is more prominent in the CBS series, making the work more rigorous for Grimes. Getting Warrack back can help in terms of his workload.

As Marshals continues to establish itself as a proper procedural, having Warrack around can also help when it comes to selling the action sequences of the series. Season 1 featured a string of scenes of varying degrees of intensity. It’s actually what makes Marshals distinct from all the other police procedural on network TV. It will be interesting to see how that evolves in season 2.
