NEW<\/span>You can now listen to Fox News articles!\n <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Following an operation that killed the leader of the Jalisco New Generation cartel, Nemesio Rub\u00e9n Oseguera Cervantes, “El Mencho,” a revolt broke out in Mexico by cartel members \u2014 causing chaos across popular tourist areas in the country Sunday.<\/p>\n The U.S. State Department has issued shelter in place<\/a> orders while airlines have canceled flights due to ongoing unrest.<\/p>\n As the violence plays out, Tripadvisor recently announced the “2026 Travelers’ Choice Awards<\/a>: Best of the Best Beaches” \u2014 naming the top beach in Mexico.<\/p>\n Isla Pasion beach in Cozumel, Mexico, took the No. 1 spot after the firm analyzed millions of traveler reviews from last year.
