It can be hard to find the time to read (stock image) (Image: Getty)<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n Reading has been a well-loved pastime for centuries and social media has lured younger hobbyists into it in recent years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n However, some people, when told that someone reads regularly, will ask how they find the time. They wrongly believe that readers innately don\u2019t do anything else other than sit down on a comfy sofa with a book<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n But one woman, Tetra, wanted to prove to people that you can read a lot and still have a 9-5 job.<\/a>She reassured people that she doesn\u2019t have \u201cloads of free time\u201d – she just has to reprioritise her life, and you can too if you want to get more of your never-ending book pile read.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n She promised people that she\u2019s not \u201clying\u201d about the amount of books she reads, nor is she \u201csecretly unemployed\u201d. Even just 15 to 20 minutes adds up so quickly over a week,\u201d Tetra explained.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Reading for just five minutes every single day can vastly improve your mental health, so it\u2019s well worth putting your phone down for a bit and giving it a go.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n It\u2019s all too easy to sit on your own at lunchtime in the office and just scroll, again. But Tetra much prefers to try to fit a chapter in when she eats.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n If you \u201cliterally just read one chapter\u201d every day on your lunch at work, you\u2019ll have read five chapters of a book in a week. And that\u2019s if you don\u2019t read on your commute. The impact could be amazing!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Tetra said she much prefers using her Kindle regardless of the time of day, because she thinks that it\u2019s a better use of her time. Plus, she never feels guilty after spending hours reading like she does with scrolling.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cIf I\u2019m gonna sit on my phone at night anyway, I just open the Kindle app on my phone instead of TikTok<\/a>. It\u2019s the same screen time, but definitely a better outcome,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n This involves setting a timer and settling down with a book, seeing how much you can read in that timeframe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Tetra explained: \u201cI\u2019ll literally say just 20 minutes and set a timer or go to a coffee shop and read until I\u2019ve finished my coffee”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n This means there\u2019s \u201cno pressure to finish loads of pages,\u201d but most of the time she\u2019ll keep reading anyway because she\u2019s really enjoying what she\u2019s reading.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The bookworm: \u201cIt\u2019s genuinely not about reading for three hours straight.
