A woman opted to take the \u201cpetty\u201d route when dealing with a neighbour who kept deliberately making a mess in her garden. Maintaining peaceful relationships with neighbours is important – after all, it\u2019s harder to avoid someone while living in such close proximity to them.<\/p>\n
Most people don\u2019t want to endure conflict, confrontation or awkwardness while trying to rest and relax at home but sometimes, certain bad habits and behaviours make it unavoidable. One woman chose to get \u201cpetty\u201d after asking her neighbour to stop<\/a> deliberately blowing all the leaves from his garden<\/a> into hers.<\/p>\n In a post on Reddit<\/a>, titled \u201cNeighbour keeps \u2018accidentally\u2019 blowing his leaves into my yard, so I returned the favour\u2019, she explained she lives in a \u201cpretty leafy\u201d neighbourhood so maintenance is essential to stop gardens and driveways becoming too built up<\/a> with leaves.<\/p>\n She said: \u201cMy neighbour, though, has this monster of a leaf blower (like, the kind landscapers use) and for some reason he insists on blowing all his leaves straight into my yard.<\/p>\n \u201cEvery time, no shame about it either. We don\u2019t even share a fence. He just walks right up to the edge of his property and lets it rip like it’s totally normal.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Keen to prevent this, she approached him and \u201cnicely\u201d asked him if he\u2019d be able to ensure this stopped happening, but he simply told her: \u201cWell, the wind just carries them that way anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n She joked: \u201cMy guy\u2026 you are the wind.\u201d<\/p>\n At her wits\u2019 end, she recently decided to take the \u201cpetty\u201d route. She said: \u201cSo last week I waited until he finished, then I calmly raked up every single leaf and dumped them back in his driveway<\/a>. Didn\u2019t say a word.<\/p>\n \u201cJust made eye contact the whole time like it was the most casual thing in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n She then added: \u201cHe hasn\u2019t touched the leaf blower since. It\u2019s been four blissfully quiet days. I think I broke his spirit a little. Petty? Maybe. But honestly, I\u2019m sleeping better than I have in weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n In the comments section, people were keen to share their thoughts.
